Safe Streets Lackawanna
We're helping make our streets and roads safer! VIM partnered with Lackawanna County Planning Department, Bowman Consulting Group, Environmental Design and Planning, and NV5 to create a plan for safer streets and roads safer for walkers, bikers, drivers, and transit users. The comprehensive action plan addresses high-priority accident-prone streets and roads throughout Lackawanna County.
VIM organized public engagement for Safe Streets Lackawanna. We conducted outreach to stakeholders, organized focus groups, facilitated public meetings, and promoting the project at community events. County residents helped shape the plan by filling out surveys and pinpointing unsafe streets or roads where they live.
The final plan can be accessed from Lackawanna County's Department of Planning website. Municipal governments and engaged citizens can follow up on its implementation steps, including using the recommendations to attract new funding to fix our most critical road safety issues.
