Safe Streets Lackawanna
We're helping make our streets and roads safer! VIM partnered with Lackawanna County Planning Department, Bowman Consulting Group, Environmental Design and Planning, and NV5 to create a plan for safer streets and roads safer for walkers, bikers, drivers, and transit users. We've created a comprehensive action plan to to fix high-priority accident-prone streets and roads throughout Lackawanna County.
VIM organized the public engagement part of this project. We identified and conducted outreach to stakeholders, organized focus groups, facilitated public meetings, and promoting the project at community events. County residents were able to participate by filling out surveys and pinpointing unsafe streets or roads where they live.
The final plan is nearing completion and will represent the needs of all those who live in Lackawanna County. It will be used to attract federal funding to solve the county’s most critical road safety issues.
